ALHomecare specialises in live-in care. The carer lives with your relative in their own home — there overnight for comfort, reassurance, and emergencies, and during the day handling housekeeping, meals, company, and personal care as required.
A live-in carer normally works 5 to 6 days a week, 7 to 8 hours a day, broken into blocks of time — for example, two hours in the morning, three in the afternoon, and two in the evening — which allows the schedule to work around HSE homehelp visits. We also supply carers who provide active night-time care and rest by day.
All carers are Garda-vetted, reference-checked, and given ongoing training and support. Every placement comes with a three-week trial period, and our team stays in contact with you and the carer throughout the placement.
Our Carer Plus grade — the most popular — starts from €485 per week with free accommodation and food for the carer, covering up to 7 nights sleeping in and 5 days’ work at 7 hours a day. Additional days or hours (up to 6 days, 8 hours a day) are available at an overtime rate of €12 gross per hour. If you’re not happy with the carer supplied and the issue can’t be resolved, we offer a free replacement carer or a refund of the placement fee.
